Made up of a group of dedicated lay leaders from the parish, the Vestry serves as the governing board of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. This group makes decisions concerning the annual operating budget and other parish business.

Nine members of the parish serve on the Vestry at any given time. Vestry members normally serve a three-year term and are elected at the Annual Parish Meeting. Two members of the Vestry serve as wardens. The Senior Warden, also known as the Rector’s Warden, is the head of the Vestry and serves as the ecclesiastical authority in the absence of the Rector. The Junior Warden, also known as the People’s Warden, serves as the overseer of our building and grounds. The Vestry also includes a Treasurer, who is responsible for keeping the Vestry up-to-date on the financial state of the parish, and a Clerk, who is responsible for taking minutes of Vestry meetings.
